Questions clients ask
Why does the auth modal implementation matter?
Because losing your place when you sign in is the single most common reason people abandon a first contribution. Intercepting the route means the sign-in appears over the content instead of navigating away from it — a small detail with a measurable effect on conversion.
Is a self-hosted community worth the maintenance?
Only if the audience is strategically important. If your community is a nice-to-have, use an existing platform. If it is where your customers talk to each other and to you, owning it is worth the overhead.
How do you handle moderation?
Voting and threading handle a surprising amount, but any community past a certain size needs an explicit moderation queue and clear rules. That should be planned for at launch rather than added in a panic.
